Here’s what to look forward to this week —
1) On youtube you can see basics of yoga practice in 9 minutes or Less. They may go over the 9 minute mark but I aim for that 9 minute max. Shooting video alone with a timer remains a skill to acquire but it’s happening. You may have many variations of 3 planes of movement, basic breath practice, major joints, initial pprinciples and practices. Most fundamentally we practice how to yoke attention with breath in present awareness. We use the body as a vessel for breath. Technically, I’m working on eliminating microphone buzz/inaudibility. Content-wise, I want to give you poses beyond the most simple, but to advance does require actual interaction between us.
2) Our LOCALS platform will coninue Kumar Book updates into Chapter 3 as possible.
3) On Instagram, I don’t know what will happen, but will find moments to share, particularly related to our live and in-person sessions that meet on a) Thursdays, 8:30 am, at the Carpathia Collaborative functional medicine clinic, 10260 N. Central Exp’way, Suite 210, Dallas 75231 and b) Saturdays, 8:45 am, at Concorde on the Creek, 6750 Hillcrest Plaza, Suite 317, Dallas,s TX 75230.
4) There are potential openings for personal sessions so share with a friend. You could even buy an intro session for a friend or family member as a Christmas gift.
5) I have a notion to make yoga pajama pants and a yoga kurti top, special design if you had a line on a good tailor who could make these from my design
that’s all folks

What is needed for hand balances? How do they build? How do we enter and exit? Where is shtira?
Beginning again means asking familiar questions and looking for the answers in the posture, observing what doesn’t work, and what does. Learning twice, and twice again in Beginners Mind.
I recorded this last night because I must be on the road during our usual time. Here we observe three planes of functional spinal movement with breath. I invite you to recall warm-ups of this past week and to practice from whatever you can recall. If you cannot recall, then reboot yr favorite livestream recording and use that.

This book was fundamental to body movement and awareness. Notice the three planes of functional spine.
If you ask a personal trainer, a pilates teacher, a yoga teacher, and a massage therapist about “core strength” it is likely you will get different answers.
We wish to observe the diaphragm as the central origin of neuromuscular action — activating channels of strength down through the lumbar vertebrae, hips, legs, feet. And likewise int he opposite direction up the spine through the thoracic spine, shoulders, neck and skull.
Here is an image for us to keep in mind and note how we humans hold together — feet to fingertips and eyes.
