Good morning and welcome to our daily breath and movement wake up.
The practice of breath and movement originates with yoga practices passed along to me from Kumar Pallana in 23 year period established in 1990 and that grew over the years until his death in 2013. MMy background in biology and movement studies for the performer/actor served as a perfect preparation for Kumar’s approach to the timeless practices of yoga. Both traditional and innovative, Kumar’s work has grown in me and I seek to pass along key aspects to you.
Please join us daily Monday through Saturday and comment. Give it a week’s trial and see how it makes you feel. If you like what happens, support this channel with your payment. More content than this wake up is available to paid supporters like balance practices, and breath movement patterns for specific purposes. All of the practice arises from breath and its delivery.
I’d like to interact more with those who view, so always feel free to comment.
Let’s go.
What is needed for hand balances? How do they build? How do we enter and exit? Where is shtira?
Beginning again means asking familiar questions and looking for the answers in the posture, observing what doesn’t work, and what does. Learning twice, and twice again in Beginners Mind.
I recorded this last night because I must be on the road during our usual time. Here we observe three planes of functional spinal movement with breath. I invite you to recall warm-ups of this past week and to practice from whatever you can recall. If you cannot recall, then reboot yr favorite livestream recording and use that.
This week marks the start of a new endeavor at the SAMURAI INTI Martial Arts Studio in Frisco. I’ll be teaching i a group class there at Sendai Sebastian Mejias ‘ dojo on Monday and Wednesday mornings.
