Good morning! Every breath is is gift of life force.
I said to Kumar, “You mean oxygen.”
He said, “Yes, but no, man. Yes, the oxygen is there, but it is the prana, the life force you take in.”
Every breath. A cycle with four phases. To exhale is to empty the pot. The lower apnea of a complete exhale is the empty pot. The pot can only fill with the inhale. When full, the pot is full in the upper apnea.
The cycle continues. When you sleep, when you wake, even when you don’t think about it. However, when you place your attention on the breath, you begin to yoke your mind’s attention in present awareness with your body. And it is your attention that is so valuable. That is what the algorithms code for, that’s how the tech giants profit by the capture and even enslavement of our attention. By our attention the doorway to liberation opens.
Breathe with me and wake up your day.
Three planes. Lymphatics. Wise guys.
What is needed for hand balances? How do they build? How do we enter and exit? Where is shtira?
Beginning again means asking familiar questions and looking for the answers in the posture, observing what doesn’t work, and what does. Learning twice, and twice again in Beginners Mind.
I recorded this last night because I must be on the road during our usual time. Here we observe three planes of functional spinal movement with breath. I invite you to recall warm-ups of this past week and to practice from whatever you can recall. If you cannot recall, then reboot yr favorite livestream recording and use that.
This week marks the start of a new endeavor at the SAMURAI INTI Martial Arts Studio in Frisco. I’ll be teaching i a group class there at Sendai Sebastian Mejias ‘ dojo on Monday and Wednesday mornings.
